What is OWCS Fantasy?

OWCS fantasy is a free-to-play game where you put your Overwatch esports team management skills to the test. 

You will act as the team manager of your own Overwatch esports team, selecting from the real-life Overwatch Champions Series players to build your Overwatch team and compete weekly against thousands of other players.

How to play OWCS Fantasy

Roster construction

• Budget
• • You start with 100 points to put your roster together
  • Your roster must stay within the set budget
  • • You can find your remaining budget on your team page
  • The total budget increases right before the regional playoffs begin in week 5
• Team composition
• • Every team needs to be composed of five players
  • • 1 Tank
    • 2 DPS
    • 2 Support
• Team limitations
• • You can select a maximum of two players from the same team
• Team updates
• • You may update your team at any time before the weekly roster deadline
  • The weekly roster deadline is right before the start of the first game of each weekend
  • After the first roster deadline, you will have two free player transfers per week
  • • A transfer is when you replace one player with another on your roster
    • Transfers are final, they cannot be reverted
    • Unused transfers do not carry over to the next matchweek
  • Any extra transfers made past the 2 limit will incur a 15 point penalty
• Scoring eligibility
• • Only your most recently submitted roster before the roster deadline will count for scoring

Scoring system

Your players will earn or lose points based on their in-game performance each week. Healing and damage numbers are combined for scoring.

• Eliminations and deaths
• • 3 Eliminations = +1 point
  • 1 Death = -1 point
• Damage and healing done
• • 1,000 damage + healing = +0.5 points
  • 1,500 damage + 2,500 healing = +2 points

Example:

In a single game, your DPS player gets:

• 27 eliminations = 9 points
• 4 deaths = -4 points
• 8459 damage + 608 Healing  = 4.5 points

They earn you a total of 9.5 points from that game

Notes: 

• Stats are counted across all games played during the gameweek
• If a player’s team doesn’t play during a matchweek, they will not earn any points. Be sure to check the schedule before finalising your roster!

Total score

Your total score is the combined total of all five players’ points for the week.

The highest total score at the end of the eighth and final matchweek wins!
